John Rishton

CEO, Rolls-Royce

John Rishton joined Rolls-Royce as CEO in 2011, having been a non-executive director of the company since 2007. After graduating from the University of Nottingham with a degree in Economics, Rishton began his career with Ford Motor Company, where he spent the next 15 years. During that time he qualified as an accountant, eventually becoming finance director of Ford’s Spanish and Portuguese operations. Next up in 1994, Rishton joined British Airways as head of finance (US), and in 2006 joined retail group Royal Ahold as CFO, becoming CEO the next year. Before succeeding to his current role at Rolls-Royce, he served as chairman of the Audit Committee and as a member of the Ethics and Nominations Committees.
