Sir David Higgins

Executive Chairman, High Speed 2

The Australian-born Sir David Higgins is the former chief executive of the London 2012 Summer Olympics Delivery Authority and the current main man behind High Speed 2. After studying in Australia at the University of Sydney and Securities Institute of Australia, Sir David worked between the UK, South Africa and his home country, and by 1995 was in charge of developments including the 2000 Olympic park in Sydney. Higgins has spent time as chief executive of English Partnerships, the UK government regeneration agency, and the UK Olympic Delivery Authority. After leaving this role in 2010 he took up the top job at Network Rail before moving into his current role in March 2014.
