Anita and Poju Zabludowicz

COLLECTORS, PHILANTHROPISTS AND GALLERY OWNERS

Anita Zabludowicz’s name has, over the last ten years, been seen consistently in every round-up of the world’s most influential collectors. Born in Newcastle, she studied Fine Art and History of Art there before working for ten years in interior architecture. It was only after visiting an exhibition of modern art that she was inspired to collect, and she decided to take a course of study at Christie’s. Along with her Helsinki-born, business magnate husband Poju, Zabludowicz has built up her collection since 1994 to include international contemporary art from over 500 emerging artists, and to further support the couple’s ongoing philanthropic endeavours. After ten years they opened their collection to the public, making them one of the art world’s power couples of today.
