David Buttress

Group CEO, Just-Eat.com

As group chief executive and director at Just Eat, David Buttress has helped develop the online takeaway service into a brand with revenues of around £100 million, and an uncontested spot in the national consciousness. Founded in 2001, the company was recognised by Deloitte as one of the 500 fastest-growing tech companies across Europe, the Middle East and Africa in 2013. After studying Law and Business at Middlesex University Business School, Buttress joined Coca-Cola Enterprises in 1998 where he progressed through several senior roles before moving into online business. When the Denmark-founded Just Eat launched in London in 2006, he became sales director, then managing director in 2008 and finally group CEO in 2013. The company was valued at $1.5 billion when floated on the London Stock Exchange in 2014, and it is currently the market leader in around 13 countries.
