Nica Burns, OBE

Theatre Producer

Along with her business partner Max Weitzenhoffer, theatre producer Nica Burns owns the Nimax Theatres group which comprises six separate West End theatres. Burns began her career as an actress before moving on to directing and producing, and has been a director and producer of the Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Awards (formerly the Perrier Awards) since 1984. She spent several years as the artistic director of the Donmar Warehouse until 1989, and was vice president of the Society of London Theatre from 2011 to 2013. Burns was awarded an OBE in 2013 for her services to theatre, and at the 2013 Private Business Awards Burns was awarded Private Businesswoman of the Year.
