Mark Wilson

Chief Executive, Aviva

Group chief executive of Aviva since 2013, Mark Wilson has over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry. A New Zealander by birth, he read for a degree in Management Studies from the University of Waikato before going on to work in insurance. Wilson began his career at National Mutual in New Zealand and Australia where he progressed through a number of senior management positions. From 2001 to 2003 he served as CEO of AXA Asia Pacific Holdings Limited before going on to take up as position as chief executive of AXA China and AXA South East Asia. Under his leadership between 2006 and 2010, AIA was transformed as a business and has a stock market capitalisation of more than $46 billion. Wilson is working similar wonders with Aviva.
