Cover-ups & Jackets

Bridal cover-ups, wraps and jackets are an essential consideration when shopping for bridal accessories. The wedding dress and season will dictate the style and type of fabric used; corded lace, organza, silk and fake fur are popular choices.

Brides who want to wear a strapless dress in church should cover their shoulders, regardless of the season. If the veil is too short for this, a cover-up is required.

Winter Cover-Ups

Winter brides need a cover-up to prevent shivering and goose pimples. Fake fur stoles are popular, and are a good idea for the times of day when the bride is outside, for example when formal photographs are being taken. A lighter, more practical cover-up may be needed for the reception - small jackets, made to match the dress, are a chic option.

Summer Cover-ups

In summer, if the weather is warm, the cover-up is only required for the church or ceremony, and perhaps at the very end of the evening. The bride can take it off after the ceremony and have bare shoulders/back during the reception. Cover-ups thus provide the bride with a formal look for church, followed by something more relaxed at the reception.
