Simon Allford

FOUNDING PARTNER, AHMM AND CHAIRMAN OF TRUSTEES, ARCHITECTURE FOUNDATION

Simon Allford is the current chairman of the Architecture Foundation’s board of trustees and one of four founders of award-winning architectural firm AHMM, set up in 1989. Born in London, Allford was educated at Hampstead Comprehensive before going on to study Architecture at the University of Sheffield and the Bartlett School of Architecture. Among the firm’s most prestigious projects have been the development of Adelaide Wharf, Chobham Academy and the Saatchi Gallery, and it is currently working on large-scale urban redevelopments in London and America, as well as the planned £650 million Google UK headquarters at Kings Cross. Allford was recently vice president at RIBA and often engages in broader architectural discussion as a writer, critic and advisor. He has been visiting professor at the Bartlett School of Architecture and Harvard’s Graduate School of Design.
