London’s burning and Nuno Mendes lit the flame. In 2014, few restaurants were as talked about as Chiltern Firehouse. With its tabloid fervour a mere side order to Mendes’s culinary credentials, its head chef is largely responsible for making the former fire station the hottest venue in town. Having left his Michelin-starred restaurant Viajante in early 2014, Mendes has earned a glut of approving reviews from the outset.
