Broadcasting
With the current exceptional standard of British television and radio programmes, this is a fantastic moment to be involved in broadcasting. In an industry continually subject to the whims and trends of the British public, not to mention the ever-looming presence of the internet seeking to entice viewers away from those more traditional mediums, broadcasters are always having to shift and adapt.
Broadcasting executives have worked hard to keep up with these advances and thus to enhance the viewer or listener’s experience. With many of the major television channels offering multi-platform, HD and even 3D broadcasts, audiences have access to an experience that simply was not available a few years ago. And radio is not one to be left behind; with podcasts and live internet streaming becoming the norm, the industry is not only keeping relevant, but drawing in interest from previously untapped demographics.
This year’s Debrett’s 500 list focuses on those influential executives and engaging presenters from television and radio broadcasting, who are continuing to draw in spellbound audiences night after night, and who are influencing the direction of broadcasting across all mediums.
