Ashley Tabor

Founder and EXECutive PResident, Global

Despite being only 37, Ashley Tabor can boast of being head of the UK’s largest commercial radio group. Global, the home of Classic FM, Heart, Capital and LBC was born in 2007 when Tabor and radio programmer Richard Grant acquired GCap Media and Chrysalis Radio for £545 million. The son of businessman Michael Tabor, Ashley left school aged 16 and went straight into radio, working at Capital and Chiltern FM before establishing a talent management and music publishing business. Today, Tabor is probably the most powerful man in commercial radio, his stations reaching over 20 million listeners every week, and he is regularly listed in MediaGuardian’s 100 Most Influential list. More recently Tabor has also extended Global’s reach into new areas including music publishing and television, and launched the Global Academy to help young people break into the media.
