Professor Brian Cox, OBE

Director and Physicist

Professor Brian Cox is probably best known to the British public as the presenter of numerous physics and astronomy programmes for the BBC including Wonders of the Solar System, Wonders of the Universe and Wonders of Life, but he is also one of the UK’s foremost British scientists, a Royal Society university research fellow and PPARC advanced fellow at the University of Manchester, who also works on the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN in Switzerland. Surprisingly, however, before finding his true calling as a scientist, Cox also enjoyed success as a musician during the 1990s, playing keyboard in the band D:Ream.
