Stephen Mangan

Actor

Acting was not something Stephen Mangan ever seriously considered as a career. However, within two days of starting his law course at Cambridge, he realised he didn’t want to be a lawyer and threw himself into drama, auditioning for RADA after university. After graduating he found success on the stage, avoiding film and television in preference for the true ‘actor’s medium.’ His television breakthrough came with the 2001 adaptation of Sue Townsend’s Adrian Mole books, after which he took a role in comedy series Green Wing. Since then, Mangan has enjoyed starring roles across film and television, including the title role in 2014’s Postman Pat: The Movie.
