Job description

Based in the heart of Mayfair, this role suits a driven, creative and confident individual, looking to further their experience in the luxury sector with a renowned British brand. The company is undergoing a dynamic and exciting phase of expansion, having recently opened internationally.

From HSBC, Hong Kong to Harvey Nichols, London, the company is dedicated to providing cutting-edge luxury services and products to a range of clients and corporates across the world. The successful candidate will be expected to sell Debrett’s products and services including: leather goods, publications, partnerships, and training with the Debrett’s Academy.  

Applicants must have strong communication skills, both spoken and written including good copy-writing skills. They will be responsible for writing pitches and presentations and will have ownership of salesforce activity across the team.   

Activities:

·         Maintaining and developing relationships with existing customers in person and via telephone calls and emails
·         Creating detailed proposal documents – mostly in Powerpoint and Indesign
·         Recording and monitoring sales activity in the CRM database, Salesforce
·         Making accurate, rapid cost calculations and providing customers with quotations
·         Acting as a brand ambassador and attending networking events to build contacts
·         Acting as the team coordinator to support the training and sales managers and directors

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of two years sales experience gained in any commercial area is beneficial, preferably with a luxury lifestyle brand
  • Any degree subject is acceptable

Key skills:

·         Strong written skills – particularly for writing copy in customer proposals
·         Creativity in business
·         IT skills – particularly Powerpoint and Excel. Experience with CRM databases is useful. Salesforce preferred but not essential.
·         Design skills – a basic knowledge of Indesign and Adobe Photoshop is preferred but not essential

MARKETING MANAGER

Overview

Debrett's now has an exciting opportunity for a talented marketing professional to join its Mayfair-based team.

We are looking for an ambitious, career-minded individual to take ownership of the full marketing strategy and its implementation (with a focus on customer marketing, partnership, and digital/online) across a varied product portfolio including leather goods and stationery, etiquette training, books and content licensing as well as a private client event service.

The ideal candidate will be highly creative in their outlook, a skilled communicator, culturally savvy and with a strong interest in heritage and/or luxury lifestyle. A background in working with a variety of different lifestyle brands is preferred, with online and ecommerce experience an advantage.

Activities

Strategy

  • Work closely with the marketing director on setting the overall brand strategy and determining the marketing strategy per product type
  • Produce a monthly calendar of all promotional marketing activity
  • Proactively look for brand partnership opportunities and ways in which to promote the various branded products through different initiatives
  • Work closely with CRM team to develop marketing ideas for the member database

Online/Digital

  • Create and implement all online marketing and promotional activity
  • Work with external agency on all digital advertising
  • Work with design team to develop and implement online promotions
  • Optimise all marketing and ecommerce activity to increase visitor numbers and drive product sales
  • Analyse, evaluate and adapt marketing activity to maximise ROI

Print, Design and Editorial

  • Work with marketing and design team on the production of all creative collateral, managing timelines and process
  • Work closely with editorial manager on all content creation relating to marketing
  • Work closely with production manager on production timelines where relevant

Third Party Promotions

  • Act as liaison with third party promotional partners
  • Coordinate third party marketing initiatives
  • Attend meetings with brand partners

Other

  • Support marketing director in all areas as an when required
  • Attend networking events as a Debrett’s brand ambassador
  • Support the sales team as and when required with supporting information, presentations or research
  • Work with Debrett’s partner businesses as a marketing liaison
  • Work alongside external PR agency to ensure all marketing efforts are supported and coordinated with relevant PR activity and vice versa

Social Media

  • Work alongside the designer and the events and social media coordinator to monitor and coordinate content and social media platforms, ensuring they are being used properly to support all company activity including promotions, events and partnerships
  • Coordinate content syndication with relevant affiliate platforms

Qualifications and Experience

  • 5+ years relevant marketing experience with a lifestyle or luxury brand
  • Experience managing the development of marketing materials, including print, advertising, direct marketing and web creative.

senior Designer

Overview

Debrett's now has an opportunity for a cutting edge senior designer to join its Mayfair-based team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented creative to take ownership of the design function, playing a pivotal role in shaping all visual aspects of the Debrett’s brand to incorporate the heritage influence with todays luxury lifestyle trends, including digital, print, social media and marketing communications. An understanding of the luxury market is preferred.

Activities

Branding and marketing

  •  Building on Debrett’s existing luxury brand positioning to expand it’s recognition to new audiences and disciplines – in the UK and globally.
  • Support all innovative business development plans to varying target audiences.
  • Producing both print and digital marketing material for Debrett’s including magazines, newsletters, brochures and invitations.
  • Maintain constant awareness of commercial as well as aesthetic imperatives.

Product Design/Publishing

  • Creative planning and research tasks to aid product development.
  • Liaising with manufacturers to ensure an efficient and cost effective process.
  • Experience of project management including production.
  • Publishing/print design and production including cover design and implementing all content.  An understanding of print processes is essential

Website Management

  • Keeping the website up-to-date and relevant by regularly changing images and content.
  • Using e-commerce website software.
  • Managing product listings and promotional online offers.

Photography

  • Taking and editing product and lifestyle images.
  • Sourcing relevant images for external companies working with the brand.

International

  • Liaising with the office in China to produce relevant dual language marketing material.
  • Providing materials for external international parties working with the brand.
  • Imagery updates for the website in China.

Desired Skills and Experience

Personal Attributes

Qualifications & Experience

Any degree subject in a creative area is acceptable.  Minimum 4 years of relevant experience gained in any commercial area is beneficial, luxury preferred

  • Good knowledge of imagery for both print and digital use
  • Understanding of typography, illustration and image layout
  • Highly proficient in InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • An efficient and motivated character, who is able to work independently and manage his/her own time
  • An effective visual and verbal communicator
  • Strong creative skills, and an ability to be highly conceptual
  • Strong photographic skills beneficial but not essential

EVENTS AND MARKETING INTERNSHIP AT DEBRETT’S

This internship is designed to give a recent graduate excellent exposure and experience within the events and marketing sectors of a luxury British brand.

The daily tasks the intern should expect to learn about and undertake include:

  • Event management and planning 
  • CRM, Ecommerce and Strategic Marketing support

  • Developing relationships with partners relating to seasonal events and marketing partnerships
  • Communicating the brand and services at events and client meetings
