Chairman, BBC Children in Need

A former chairman of The Groundwork Federation, Spring joined Children in Need in 2008 as its first externally appointed chairman. A law graduate from the University of Kent, Spring was involved in the launch of TV-am in 1983, then moved into advertising before becoming UK chief executive of Clear Channel, the media and live entertainment company. In 2006 she joined Future, the magazine publisher, which she ran until 2011. Under her chairmanship Children in Need has raised some £250 million, repeatedly breaking previous records. She is also senior independent director at the Engine Group, and is on the board of the Authors’ Licensing and Collecting Society.
