Hayley Parsons

Founder, Gocompare

Formerly employed by Admiral Insurance and Confused.com, Parsons set up Gocompare in late 2006. Eight years later, she netted a £44 million profit when the insurance giant esure, which already owned half of the company, paid £95 million to bring the rest of it under its control. Parsons, who left school at 16 with five GCSEs and continues to live in Newport, Wales, attributes her success to her get-up-and-go spirit – and, presumably, to some catchy television advertising.
