Ian Livingstone, CBE

FOUNDER, GAMES WORKSHOP

Fantasty author and founder of Games Workshop back in 1975, Livingstone was a crucial pioneer in the development of today’s sophisticated, narrative-based games. His participation evolved from distributing Dungeons & Dragons games in the 1970s to co-writing the Fighting Fantasy gamebook series in the 1980s before moving into the video games industry in the 1990s. Livingstone was responsible for the procurement and growth of such lucrative franchises as Tomb Raider. In 2010 Livingstone was appointed Skills Champion by digital minister Ed Vaizey and he is a strong advocate for teaching coding in schools.
