Angus MacDonald, OBE

Community Philanthropist

Scottish highlander Angus MacDonald, the founder of the Moidart Trust and the West Coast Communities Growth Trust, is a much admired community philanthropist who has been supporting community and enterprise development in the west and north-west of Scotland for nearly 20 years. Working alongside a number of other trusts under the umbrella of the West Coast Communities Growth Trust, the Moidart Trust uses an enterprising grants programme to help new and existing businesses flourish in one of the UK’s more deprived corners. MacDonald has also been one of the ‘dragons’ for Dragons’ Glen, an annual competition in Lochaber for budding entrepreneurs.
