Xavier Rolet

CEO, London Stock Exchange

The inspirational Xavier Rolet, CEO of the London Stock Exchange, grew up on a sinkestate in the banlieues of Paris. At the age of 12, Rolet set his sights on studying business in America after reading that the average starting salary of their graduates was £300 a month, which to Rolet appeared an unimaginable amount of money. Having served as a second lieutenant and an instructor at the French Air Force Academy, Rolet travelled to America and studied for his MBA at Columbia University. Rolet has since held senior positions with Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers and Credit Suisse First Boston, before becoming chief executive at the London Stock Exchange, where he has been credited with transforming the struggling body.
