He’s the current head of BBC News, having worked at many major news publications, including as editor of The Times until 2012. Graduating with a first class History degree from Trinity College, Cambridge, Harding initially went out to Japan where he worked as a speechwriter to the chief secretary to the cabinet of Japan, as well as studying at SOAS. His journalism career began at the Financial Times in the UK, China and the US before he joined The Times as business editor in 2006, swiftly being promoted to editor the following year. As head of BBC News, Harding has pledged to double its current worldwide audience by 2022.
