Simon Arora is CEO of leading variety retailer B&M Retail. The discount variety retailer’s flotation in June 2014 not only made Arora and his brothers, Bobby and Robin, a paper fortune of around £1 billion but also established B&M as a genuine retail giant, with a market value of about £3 billion. B&M opened its 400th store last year and is now looking to expand in Europe. Arora attended a grammar school before going on to study Law at Cambridge, after being influenced by his father, a cash and carry owner who urged Arora to tread a similar path to that of Jawaharlal Nehru, India’s first prime minister.
