British Champions Day Ascot

17.10.15
Ascot, Berkshire

This is a very new event, beginning only in 2011, where the racing world heads to Ascot for the richest day in British racing.

Champions Day is the culmination of a series that features the top 35 flat races in the British horseracing calendar spread over 28 race days, including no fewer than 12 of the world's top 20 races, and encompassing all British flat racing's key festivals. These include the QIPCO Guineas Festival, the Investec Derby Festival, Royal Ascot, the Piper Heidsieck July Festival, The Betfair Weekend at Ascot, Glorious Goodwood, the Welcome to Yorkshire Ebor Festival and the Ladbrokes St. Leger Festival.

£3 million in prize money is on offer across the final races in each of the five QIPCO British Champions Series categories, presenting a fantastic opportunity for the season's equine stars and their owners, together with the top trainers and jockeys, to achieve sporting immortality on Ascot's historic turf.

The British Champions Day now acts as the major championship climax to the flat racing season that this country had previously lacked.

This particular day of racing is rated extremely highly by all those who attend.
