Angela Hartnett, MBE

Chef

Protégée of Gordon Ramsay Angela Hartnett is one of the most high-profile women in the restaurant world. Her father died when she was eight and her maternal grandmother raised her whilst her mother worked as a dinner lady. It was with her grandmother that Hartnett first learned to cook. In 2002 she became the first ever female chef at The Connaught Hotel. Hartnett is now chef patron for Café Murano, Murano and Merchants Tavern in London, and Hartnett Holder & Co in Lime Wood. Towards the end of 2014, Hartnett was made a director of the Lime Wood Hotel and Home Grown Hotels, bringing her down-to-earth attitude to the board of the rapidly expanding hotel chain.
