Twice-named Newspaper Editor of the Year at the British Society of Magazine Editors Awards, Jason Cowley has been editor of the New Statesman since 2008. Prior to landing the job there, the Essex-born Cowley was editor at literary magazine Granta, editor of the Observer Sport Monthly where his publication won numerous awards, and a staff writer at publications including The Times and the New Statesman. During his career he has been a judge of the Booker Prize for fiction, won numerous more awards for his journalism and has published a novel.
