David Kosse

CEO, Universal Pictures

David Kosse is the new director of Film4, Channel 4’s filmmaking division, as of November of last year after the departure of Tessa Ross. Previously Kosse was at Universal Pictures for ten years, becoming president in 2009, where he built the company into an enormous international operation with branches in 16 countries, and grossing more than $2 billion in 2014 at the box office alone. Kosse was one of the major decision makers behind such Universal productions as Mamma Mia! Amélie and Les Misérables. Before arriving at Universal he was at Momentum Pictures, which he established in 2000. In his new role, Kosse will be looking to build partnerships and platforms for Film4, as well as overseeing development and financing for all the channel’s film releases.
