Frank Green, CBE

National Schools Commissioner

Sharing the benefits of an educational career spanning over 40 years, Frank Green has held the post of National Schools Commissioner since the beginning of 2014. Beginning as a science teacher, Green progressed to head teacher and later to chief executive of Leigh Academies Trust overseeing seven schools in Kent, a post which he held for five years. With a record and reputation for innovation and transformation in struggling schools, Green has overseen the transition of several schools to academy status, and was awarded a CBE in 2013 for his services to education. In his current role he will play a key role in developing the government’s educational reforms, in particular promoting the benefits of academies and free schools.
