Professor Chris Husbands

Director of the Institute of Education, UCL

Since joining the Institute of Education in 2007, Professor Chris Husbands has progressed from Professor of Education and dean of the Faculty of Culture and Pedagogy to director in 2011. He graduated from a history degree at the University of Cambridge and trained as a teacher at the Institute of Education. Professor Husbands became director of the Institute of Education at the University of Warwick in 2000 where his research centred on teaching quality, curriculum and teacher development, and where he established the National Academy for Gifted and Talented Youth. He was also previously head of the School of Education and Lifelong Learning at the University of East Anglia.
