Gareth Malone, OBE

Choir Master

Considered the nation’s favourite choir master, Gareth Malone has helped rejuvenate the UK’s great choral tradition. His programme The Choir, which focuses on transforming untrained voices into credible choristers, has raised the priority of music across the country. From school children to military wives to celebrities, Malone has created and developed the raw musical emotion of individuals into chart-topping hits. In 2012, Malone was awarded an OBE for his services to music, gave his first tour in 2014 and brought the unlikely singers of the All Star Choir to number one with their official BBC Children in Need single.
