2014 was the year when many successful YouTubers branched out to extend their extraordinary online influence, and Alfie Deyes, who runs the YouTube channels PointlessBlog, PointlessBlogTv and AlfieGames, perhaps represents the best example of this. Deyes authored and released his book The Pointless Book, and an app, in 2014, and is set to release two further books later this year. Since starting up his PointlessBlog channel in 2009, Deyes has amassed nearly 2 million followers on Twitter and nearly 4 million YouTube subscribers. Last year he graced the covers of The Sunday Times Magazine and Company to represent its ‘Generation YouTube’ feature.
