Simon Stevens

Chief Executive, NHS England

The current chief executive of NHS England Simon Stevens began his career with the NHS as a hospital porter, progressing to become an important player in the industry. Prior to assuming his current role in 2014, Stevens had also held the roles of health adviser to Tony Blair and a policy adviser to a number of health secretaries at the UK Department of Health before he became president of the global health division of UnitedHealth Group. As chief executive of NHS England, Stevens is at the cutting edge of influence over health outcomes in the UK.
