Amanda Berry, OBE

Chief Executive, BAFTA

As chief executive of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, Amanda Berry is arguably one of the most influential people in British film and television, regularly featuring on lists of Britain’s most influential media names. Berry joined BAFTA in 1998 as director of development and events after working as a producer and development executive for various television companies. Since becoming chief executive in 2000, she is widely acknowledged as having transformed the fortunes of BAFTA, both in increasing the interest surrounding its awards and by transforming it into the pre-eminent charity body that educates, promotes and rewards excellence in the arts. Its programme of charitable activates has grown to include 200 educational events every year.
