London Jazz Festival

13.11.15 - 22.11.15
London

Originating in the 1970s as the Camden Festival of Jazz, the London Jazz Festival emerged in 1993 - a city-wide celebration of jazz, drawing on the metropolis's rich cultural diversity and extraordinary range of venues.

It is now a major event on the international jazz calendar, encompassing an extraordinary range of venues, from established jazz clubs (such as the Pizza Express in Dean Street and Ronnie Scott's) to a city-wide array of pubs, to churches, music colleges, arts clubs, and established arts venues such as The Royal Albert Hall, the South Bank and the Wigmore Hall.

Highlights of previous jazz festivals have included Wayne Shorter's first London concert, Andy Sheppards' Saxophone Massive (consisting of a spellbinding 200 saxophonists), mesmerising performances from Carla Bley, George Russell, Sheila Jordan, Tord Gustavsen, the Jazz Jamaica All Stars.

The London Jazz Festival features over 1,000 artists, and over 30 gigs per night.
