Dave Lewis

CEO, Tesco

As the CEO of Tesco, the UK’s largest chain of supermarkets, Dave Lewis takes on responsibility for building it back into the force it once was before the rise of discounters Lidl and Aldi and its 2014 profit overestimation. Yorkshire-born Lewis joined Tesco late last year from Unilever where he had been since joining as a graduate trainee in 1987. Lewis met with great success with the 1992 UK launch of Dove soap, propelling him into international positions of greater and greater authority within the company. From 1995 he took over Unilever’s UK toiletries division before being promoted to chairman for the UK and Ireland and later president of Global Personal Care.
