Kate Mosse, OBE

Author

Beloved author Kate Mosse made her name with her bestselling Languedoc trilogy, an epic historical saga and thriller set in various bygone ages of France. The first of these, Labyrinth, has been translated into more than 37 languages, sold millions of copies worldwide and was made into a 2012 television series starring John Hurt and Jessica Brown Findlay. As well as her fictional works, the Oxford-educated Mosse’s first two published books were non-fictional. On top of her writing, she has been hugely influential as a champion of women’s fiction, co-founding the Women’s Prize for Fiction in 1996. She was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 2013 for her services to literature and currently serves on several arts boards including that of the National Theatre.
