The Florist

It is important to discuss ideas with the florist. Write down any thoughts in advance and take along any magazine cuttings that appeal. If possible, also go with a picture of the wedding dress.

- Timing is important; most florists need to be booked at least six months in advance for summer weddings.

- The budget should be discussed early so that the florist is sure that they are recommending flowers within the right price range.

- Ask to see examples of their work; most florists have an album of other weddings they have done.

Some brides may be very creative or know a budding amateur florist; if the budget is tight, then they may be able to make the bridal bouquet from blooms bought from a wholesaler or florist.
