Joint Group Managing Director, Aldi

The current joint group managing director of Aldi UK and Ireland, Matthew Barnes is set to take over as chief executive from April this year. Having joined the company as a graduate trainee, Barnes has headed operations with fellow joint director Roman Heini since 2010. In recent months, the store has grown vastly, eating into the profits of its Big Four rivals and making it a force to be reckoned with on the British supermarket scene.
