Catherine Slessor

EDITOR, ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW

Notwithstanding a comparatively small circulation, the monthly Architectural Review magazine has wielded enormous international influence ever since its first publication in 1896, even more so than sister publication The Architects’ Journal. As the current editor, Catherine Slessor has the final say on articles from building design and architectural theory to urbanism and landscape. She studied Architecture at the University of Edinburgh before qualifying as an architect and starting work in private practice in London. After working as a technical editor at The Architects’ Journal, she moved to the Architectural Review as a writer, critic and editor, and has contributed to numerous other international architecture and design magazines. She has lectured around the world and won the International Building Press Award for Architectural Journalist of the Year three times.
