Deyan Sudjic

DIRECTOR, DESIGN MUSEUM LONDON

As the current director of London’s Design Museum, Deyan Sudjic is overseeing the building’s move from Tower Bridge to Kensington. After growing up in West London, the son of Eastern European parents, Deyan Sudjic went to Edinburgh to study architecture. Prior to joining the museum in 2006, he was design and architecture critic for The Observer, dean of the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture at Kington University, and editor of monthly architecture magazine Blueprint, which he co-founded. In 1999 he was the director of the Glasgow UK City of Architecture and Design Programme and director of the Venice Architecture Biennale in 2002. Before London 2012 he was also a juror for the design of the London Aquatics Centre. He is also a leading figure in architectural theory, and has published several important works on the subject.
