She has been named the ‘doyenne of branding’ and ‘the brand leading the brands,’ and Rita Clifton’s influence in advertising is not about to let up. A leading expert on brands and branding, Clifton has been vice chairman and strategy director at Saatchi & Saatchi, where she worked on high profile clients including British Airways, BT, Procter and Gamble and the British Army, later becoming CEO and then chairman at Interbrand, the world’s leading brand consultancy. In 1988 Clifton established the company’s Green Unit to help clients develop effective environmental strategies. Today Clifton speaks about branding, leadership, reputation and innovation around the world, has written several books and contributed to newspapers. During 2009 she was president of the Market Research Society and is a fellow of both the Marketing Society and the Royal Society of Arts. Clifton is a non-executive director of ASOS and was awarded a CBE in the New Year’s Honours List in 2014.
