With a wealth of advertising experience from 20 years of working in-house and in consultancies, Stuart Smith took the top job at Ogilvy in 2014. Since earning a doctorate in environmental chemistry from Oxford, Smith has worked for numerous marketing consultancies including Edelman, Hill and Knowlton and PRWordsmith Consulting, gaining experience with media brands including CNBC Europe, The Economist and the BBC. Since joining Ogilvy in 2011 as managing director of global corporate practice, Smith spent several years providing strategic leadership for clients across Europe, Africa and the Middle East before becoming CEO last year.
