Sir Kenneth Branagh

Director, Actor and Producer

Director, actor and producer Sir Kenneth Branagh has become one of the most influential directors in the world, and is entrusted with huge signature movies for the US studios. Born in Belfast to working-class protestant parents, he and his family relocated to England when he was a child to escape the Troubles. It was in England that he first tasted acting, affecting an English accent to fit in with his friends. Today, Branagh balances his Hollywood hits with his credentials as an arthouse film and theatre director. His impressive reputation for having brought Shakespeare to the masses with a string of film adaptations and leading roles has boosted Branagh’s authority. He’s also a familiar face on television having played the title role in Wallander. After years in the industry, he is now arguably without rival as an actor-director.
