Sir Jonathan Ive, KBE

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT OF INDUSTRIAL DESIGN, APPLE

Sir Jonathan Ive may not be an instantly recognisable face, but as the man who created the iPod, he is a hugely influential force in technology. His iconic designs for Apple are now a major part of modern life. Born the son of a silversmith in London, he was passionate about cars as a teenager, which sparked a lifelong interest in design. After studying Industrial Design at Newcastle Polytechnic, he began work at a design agency in London before joining Apple in 1992. Since then, he has turned the company into the force to be reckoned with, designing (amongst many products) the MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iPod, iPhone and iPad. Now living in America, he was voted one of TIME’s 100 most influential people in the world in 2013.
