Citrico opened in Prospect Heights in the spring of 2014. The bright and airy dining room on Washington Avenue turns out plates that are, presentation-wise, a step above the average taqueria, and taste-wise, up there with the best of them.

Freshly made in-house tortillas, both white and blue corn varieties, and crispy-fried quesadillas come stuffed with shredded chipotle-spiced tinga chicken, spinach and squash blossoms, or even huitlacoche, the earthy corn fungus that is celebrated in Mexico but rarely found in restaurants here. The FISH TACOS, a signature dish is absolutely perfect, with a generous hunk of crunchy batter-fried fish served on a warm blue corn tortilla, and topped by a deeply spicy chipotle mayo and fresh pico.

Traditionally prepared TORTA and CEMITA sandwiches, and a full range of larger entrees, from CHILES RELLENOS stuffed with shrimp and octopus to POLLO ENCHILADO, a tender, chipotle-rubbed baked chicken doused in onion, garlic, and the restaurant’s namesake citrus flavors.

Prices start at $4 for a generously-sized taco, $5 for quesadillas, sandwiches start at $8, and $12 to $16 for the larger plates. There’s also a lengthy menu of hangover-busting breakfast items, from CHILAQUILES doused in red salsa and fried eggs, to steak and eggs with avocado salsa and home fries.

It’s nice to see a brand-new spot like this that keeps things affordable while turning out simple, old-school food that can stand bite-to-bite with most fancy fare.

"Dwayna has an earthy, authentic and soulful voice that is unmistakably hers…She has great songs... I believe this album is a classic, and I’m so proud to be her friend and co-writer.”  --Hubert Eaves III, musician, producer, writer, arranger for such artists as Luther Vandross, Whitney Houston, Madonna, D Train, Aretha Franklin, Biggie Smalls, Miles Davis most notably.

This latest CD from Dwayna Litz “I’m the Girl I Used to Know Again” is refreshing. It has original songs reminiscent of the country/rock/bluegrass LA-Sound-of-the-70s with songs written similar to the style of early Linda Ronstadt but with a contemporary surprise like Norah Jones. Recorded in the top studios of NYC and Nashville, there are elements of pop, country, R&B and bluegrass in this soulful compilation available at CD Baby and on iTunes.

Hear songs from Dwayna’s latest CD, as well as her recording of songs from the Great American Songbook with a full orchestra on her web site at www.DwaynaLitz.com.

This is used furniture that's meant to be used. Located in the heart of Williamsburg's furniture district, it features pieces from the latter half of the last century, from a rustic coal stove to the best dinette sets of the '80s, not to mention what looks to be a matte black roadster with Tennessee plates done up like the Batmobile. The collection is cluttered but deliberately curated.

Delicate covered writing desks class it up while mounted taxidermy and kitsch (check out the poodle ceramics) are very much in the spirit of the neighborhood. This is more then a store: it's an adventure, and an education. There's your standard selection of furniture seemingly centered around the 1920's-1940's, but also dozens of mirrors, vinyl records, taxidermy, odd medical apparatuses, grooming items from the 20s, a bit of advertising memorabilia, and everything else you can think of spread out through a large warehouse. Fascinating and fun; prices reflect quality.

In this hilarious new comedy based on the best-selling book of the same title, audiences are welcomed into a fun-filled world of insider advice that could only be culled from that most insightful of individuals: the gay man.  The play is set at a local university auditorium where the English department holds its monthly meet the authors event.  Robyn is the shy and studious moderator of the event and this month's featured author is Dan Anderson of Sex Tips for Straight Women from a Gay Man.  With the help of a hunky staged assistant named Stefan, Dan aims to turn this meet the authors event upside down with a highly theatrical, audience interactive sex tip seminar.  Will Stefan’s muscles be used for more than moving more than heavy scenery?  Will the power of Dan's tips prove too titillating for even Robyn to resist?  As with everything at this event...that is for Dan to know, and you to find out!

Azerbaijani cuisine is one of the most interesting one in the world in general and the Orient in particular. It is somewhat similar to traditions of Caucasian and Central Asian people but has its distinctive features. It is remarkable by abundance of the every possible meat, fish and vegetable dishes dressed by fragrant greens and spices.

The most experienced gourmets coming to Azerbaijan have become connoisseurs of its cuisine. The dishes of Azerbaijani cuisine are original and unique. It is not surprising that purely Azerbaijani dolma, bozbash, bozartma, chykhyrtma, khashil, shashlyk, piti, pilau, govurma are included in national menus of neighboring Caucasian nations. The majority of national food is cooked from mutton, beef and poultry. Azerbaijanis as well as other Moslems do not eat pork. Dishes from chopped meat and, certainly, fishes are widely spread there. He preferred fishes are stellate sturgeon and sturgeon. Azerbaijani cuisine is famous for abundance of vegetables, first of all greens, eggplants, sweet peppers, cabbage, spinach, sorrel, beet, radishes, onions, cucumbers, green string bean, etc.

The national food range also includes many dishes from rice, flour, vegetables and greens. Azerbaijani cuisine widely uses such domestic spices as caraway seeds, fennel , anise, bay leaf, coriander and such kitchen herbs as mint, dill, parsley, celery, basil, thyme etc. Especially popular in Azerbaijani cuisine is saffron: more than 50 national dishes are cooked with this herb! To enhance the flavors of dishes Azerbaijanis extensively use lemons, green and black olives, cherry plums, dried apricots etc.

The most popular breads are oblong churek and pita – the bread baked in tendir.

Vegetable salads are special in Azerbaijani cuisine. Vegetables are very thinly sliced. Salads are eaten as side dishes. Starters and appetizers are very popular too. The most often served are various pickles and marinades. From ancient times Azerbaijani dishes have been cooked in copper ware. Even today villagers observe this tradition believing that a meal prepared in such a way is much more delicious.

There will be nobles, masks, the auctioning of diamond necklace, and, if their other weekly charity auctions are any indication, a dead body. After the necklace goes missing and a corpse turns up, virtually everyone is a suspect—from Hattie, the Texan lawyer with a drawl as big as the Lone Star State, to the Lady Cee, a wealthy English noblewoman who can’t stand any of her fellows. Thankfully an entire audience of detectives is there to join in on the sleuthing before the killer strikes again.
