‘1 Baton, 22 Provinces, 100 Days’

The Oil Search Pacific Games Relay will engage all Papua New Guineans in a celebration of participation and culture as the forerunner for the 2015 Pacific Games. Over 100 days the baton will travel across the nation to each of the 22 provinces. The baton will travel by land, sea and air using modern and traditional methods of transport, finishing its journey at the Opening Ceremony, in Port Moresby, on 4 July 2015.

The relay offers an opportunity for each province to showcase its people, its culture, its natural beauty and its unique spot in the diverse country that is PNG and welcomes everyone to be part of the journey.

The Relay is now on going around the country. It began its journey on the 26th of March 2015 with a traditional Hiri send off, from Ela Beach, Port Moresby.
