Carman is an East Bay native who fled his suburban upbringing to go to UCLA and grew to embrace everything about Los Angeles except for the Dodgers. His personal heroes are Jacques Cousteau, Hou Hsiao-hsien, Sadaharu Oh, Steve Young, and Ornette Coleman. He's often spotted around town wearing a San Francisco Giants cap, rapping Wu-Tang Clan in his car at red lights, seeing an old movie, and/or slurping down a giant bowl of ramen.

Juliet is originally from somewhere cold, like Winterfell, where she worked as the editor of an urban development publication, a bartender and a musician (not at the same time). She likes dark bars, basement gyms, adult themes, motels with one-star ratings, unlikely animal friendships, television and public transit.

Christine is one of those transplanted Northeasterners (go Sox and go Eagles!) clogging up the 405, but has lived in the Los Angeles area for the past 10 years. She works for the man by day in corporate communications and feeds her soul freelancing on nights and weekends. When not working, she can often be found on the nearest golf course trying to work on that nasty slice. Have an event you'd like us to cover or list? Send it via email.
