The Hon Tim Hely-Hutchinson

Group CEO, Hachette UK

Tim Hely Hutchinson heads up the largest British publisher in his role as CEO at Hachette UK, the group that encompasses imprints including Little, Brown, Hodder and Stoughton, Headline and Quercus. Hely Hutchinson founded Headline in 1989 and later acquired Hodder & Stoughton, becoming chief executive of the resultant Hodder Headline. This in turn was acquired by Hachette Livre in 2004, with Hely Hutchinson also becoming CEO of the enlarged Hachette group, whose authors now include J K Rowling, Stephen King, Neil Gaiman and Martina Cole. Hely Hutchinson’s ambitions in publishing were formed at Oxford where he edited student magazine Isis, and Hachette continues to thrive under his leadership.
