Charlie Redmayne

CEO, Harper Collins

Charlie Redmayne has been CEO at HarperCollins UK since 2013, having spent two years away from the company to set up Pottermore, J K Rowling’s digital publishing business. Redmayne’s background in digital media helps inform his strategy as chief executive: he was group digital director at HarperCollins before his departure to Pottermore, and previously worked for Sky’s Online Business Unit. He believes publishers should be offering apps, games and video as well as ebooks in order to take storytelling back from their digital competitors. Redmayne served as a lieutenant in the Irish Guards for four years before embarking on his career in media, and is the older brother of film star Eddie – but claims no one believes him when he reveals the connection.
