Benedict Cumberbatch has quickly become one of the nation’s best-loved actors, gracing our television screens in the ever-popular Sherlock and starring in films including War Horse, The Hobbit Trilogy, Star Trek Into Darkness and The Imitation Game. Cumberbatch has earned himself an Olivier Award and an Emmy alongside a number of other nominations for his work. He attended LAMDA, and played many roles on the stage and television before his big break in a feature film playing William Pitt the Younger in 2006’s Amazing Grace, which saw him nominated for the London Film Critics Circle British Breakthrough Acting Award. Last year saw Cumberbatch supporting Johnny Depp in the highly rated Black Mass while in 2016 we will see him join the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the eponymous Dr Strange.
