Eddie Jones

Head Coach, England Rugby Union

Australian Eddie Jones was the coach behind Japan’s spirited and impressive performance in the 2015 Rugby World Cup which saw the underdogs beat South Africa in the upset of the tournament. He was swiftly signed by England Rugby to replace Stuart Lancaster following the host side’s failure to qualify for the World Cup knockout stage. Jones is the first foreign head coach for England, and rugby union fans will be hoping he delivers a more successful Six Nations later in the year. Jones played for New South Wales as a hooker and worked as a teacher and principal before moving into rugby. His extensive coaching experience has seen him work with Australia, South Africa and Saracens as well as Japan.
