Ewan Venters

CEO, Fortnum and Mason

A former director at Selfridges, Ewan Venters took up the position of chief executive at Fortnum and Mason in 2012. He has overseen consistent growth in sales since then, as well as the opening of the first ever satellite branches of Fortnum’s, at St Pancras and Heathrow airport, and in Dubai. Venters has also improved the appearance of Fortnum’s 307-year-old flagship store in Piccadilly, making it more attractive to Londoners as well as tourists by holding events such as book launches and celebrity dinners. At the age of 11, a young Venters started his own bakery business, selling cakes and bread baked in his parents’ kitchen. At 16 he embarked on a training scheme with Sainsbury’s, subsequently working for Brakes and Selfridges before moving to Fortnum’s.
